THE ANTI-SEXIST

At the Design Reviewer, we believe in Anti-Sexism

What is Anti-Sexism?

Anti-Sexism opposes traditional stereotypes of gender roles, as well as the associated discrimination and devaluation of either men and women.  It is paramount that men and women are both equal beyond their biological and physical differences. Anti-Sexism encompasses Feminism but includes advocating for men as well.

What are some examples of Anti-Sexism?

The color Pink can be used by all without stereotyping.

-------

Men can play harps and women can play any instrument in a classical orchestra.

-------

Anyone can clean, cook, and do the housework at home. It's about the division of labor.

-------

Househusbands are as acceptable as housewives.

-------

It is perfectly fine for women to earn more than men.

-------

Women are to be drafted into the military as men, and be assigned based on physical capability, as it's not just about brawns in the military these days. Women can be sharpshooters too.

-------

It is ok for boys and men to cry. Girls and women can be tomboys too.

-------

Women can learn to read, drive, and do whatever that the men have always been doing.

-------

It is fine for women to wear pants and trousers as it is fine for men to don kilts and skirts.

-------

We believe women should travel as free and safe as the men do too.

Can both men and women share the same washroom?

In Nordic countries, some cities are exploring entire washrooms with only cubicles and no urinals.  This cuts the waiting time in women's washrooms, and maximizes the use of men's washroom per unit area. Cubicles are full height and prevents any peeping.  Contact us if you need help in designing a common washroom for both men and women.

Gender Equality is more than a goal in itself.  It is a precondition for meeting the challenge of reducing poverty, promoting sustainable development and building good governance.

Kofi Atta Annan, United Nations Secretary-General

January 1997 to December 2006

Achieving gender equality requires the engagement of women and men, girls and boys. It is everyone's responsibility.

Ban Ki-moon, United Nations Secretary-General

January 2007 to December 2016

We must urgently transform and redistribute power, if we are to safeguard our future and our planet. That is why all men should support women’s rights and gender equality.

António Guterres, United Nations Secretary-General

January 2017 to Current
